Abandoned University Hospital

The hospital that never healed, now a canvas for urban exploration.

Details

An exploration of Zagreb's unfinished University Hospital construction site in the Blato district, a haunting architectural relic from the 1980s that stands frozen in time. This ambitious medical complex, begun in 1985 and halted in 1992 at 50% completion, now serves as a canvas for decay, graffiti, and the reclamation of nature. The concrete skeleton, once intended to be Croatia's largest and most advanced hospital facility, tells a story of unfulfilled ambitions and transformation. Through this photographic series, the atmosphere of abandonment meets urban exploration, capturing the interplay between human-made structures and the slow persistence of nature.
